As part of the “Project to Promote Sustainable and Socially Inclusive Labor Market Integration” for international students in Turkey, Hacettepe University hosted the “Peer Mentoring and Collective Wisdom Event for International Students.” The event was organized by the United Nations Migration Agency and the Migration Administration. Representing our university, Prof. Dr. Oktay Berber, Coordinator of the International Student Admissions and Registration Office, along with Deputy Coordinator and ESOGÜ TÖMER Lecturer Furkan Korkut and Lecturer Zülal Söğüt, were joined by students from the Institute of Natural Sciences, the Institute of Social Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, and Faculty of Education.
As part of the project, over the course of two days on October 8–9, 2026, our international and Turkish students will present recommendations for a peer mentoring program designed for international students during a series of sessions. The model to be determined at the end of the event aims to support the experiences of international students in Turkey.
